The Italian Catholic Archdiocese of Campobasso-Boiano ((ラテン語:Archidioecesis Campobassensis-Boianensis)) became an archdiocese in 1973 and a metropolitan see in 1976. The historical diocese of Boiano was renamed diocese of Boiano-Campobasso in 1927. It was suffragan to the archdiocese of Benevento.〔(''Catholic Hierarchy'' article )〕 ==History== The first recorded bishop of Boiano is Adalberto (1071). Others were: * Poliziano (1215) who consecrated the cathedral; * Giovanni (1226), who decorated the facade at his own expense, as recorded in an inscription; * Silvio Pandoni (1489), who restored the work of Giovanni; *Cardinals Franciotto Orsini (1519) and Carlo Carafa (1572), who adorned the cathedral with costly furnishings; *Celestino Bruni (1653), theologian and preacher. After the death of Bishop Nicolò Rosetti (elected in 1774), differences between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Naples prevented the appointment of a successor until 1836, when Giuseppe Riccardi was appointed.〔(''Catholic Encyclopedia'' article, Boiano )〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Campobasso-Boiano」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
